CHARLES HALL YOUTH SERVICES CELEBRATES COMMUNITY GIVING

AT ANNUAL HO WASHTE EVENT

For almost five decades, Charles Hall Youth Services (CHYS) has been meeting the needs of socially-vulnerable adolescents and teenagers from across the state.  On Friday, November 14, the faith-based, nonprofit organization welcomes Christian Music Artist Mark J. Thomas as featured entertainment at its annual Ho Washte (Good Voice) luncheon at Sixteen03 Main Events.

The annual Ho Washte event also recognizes persons and businesses in the local area for their philanthropy.  This year’s honorees include Tesoro (Macedonian Stewardship Award), Terry and Collette Kraft (Power of One Award), and Rita Weisz (Living the Message Award).  Charles Hall Youth Services employee Mona Callahan will receive the Promising Practices Award for over a decade of service at the agency. 

 

* Tesoro Companies received the Macedonian Stewardship award for its extraordinary support of Charles Hall Youth Services during the past year, as well as in recent years.

* Terry and Collette Kraft long time advocates and supporters were recognized
with The Power of One award.  This award recoginizes the unique contribution of one individual to the mission and work of Charles Hall.  Matt and Jeanie Kraft were present to accept their award.

* Rita Weisz was honored with our Living the Message award.  This award recognizes an individual  for their commitment and support not only of Charles Hall but also of other important causes and/or organizations in our local community.

At Charles Hall there is a tradition of presenting one of our staff with the Promising Practices award.  This award recognizes their contributions of their daily work with high risk youth and it went to long-time devoted staff, Mona Callahan.

This year's event was well attended, with approximately 160 guests.  Special guests include staff from the U. S. Congressional offices of Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven, as well as Representative Kevin Cramer.  United Tribes Technical College President Leander “Russ” McDonald .  Major sponsorship support for the 2014 event include Sixteen03 Main Events, Jacobsen Music and Thrivent Financial.

 

 

Charles Hall Youth Services is proud to announce a partnership with Heart River Bridges of Hope.

Heart River Bridges of Hope is an outreach and re-entry ministry on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the whole Church. As an expression of God’s grace and love, this ministry will provide youth opportunities for community worship, mentorship, wellness, and mutually enriching relationships. Trusting and believing that God heals and creates new life, our (Bridges of Hope’s) intent is to accompany and empower youth toward a future with hope.

Because of our holistic and empowering approach to working with at-risk youth, Charles Hall Youth Services welcomes the opportunity to partner in mission and ministry with Heart River Bridges of Hope. All youth need to feel like they belong and that their lives have meaning and purpose. Both Heart River Bridges of Hope and Charles Hall Youth Services are committed to helping youth discover just that!

Charles Hall Recognizes Stewardship of Our Supporters & Friends


At our May HoWaste recognition luncheon Charles Hall  recognized donors, partners and staff.  Special recognition went to the following:


* Century Baptist Church received the Macedonian Stewardship award for its extraordinary support of Charles Hall Youth Services during the past year, as well as in recent years.

 

 

* Phyllis Hand, former board member and long-time supporter was recognized
with The Power of One award.  This award recoginizes the unique contribution of one individual to the mission and work of Charles Hall.

 

 

* Deb & Craig Burke and Lynn Prouty & Wayne Pruse were honored with our Living the Message award.  This award recognizes an individual or couple for their commitment and support not only of Charles Hall but also of other important causes and/or organizations in our local community.
