With an estimated 12 million foster care alumni and

408,000 children and youth currently in out-of-home care,

it is hard to ignore the impact of child abuse and neglect on our nation’s next generation.

Looking for a great read? The Frontier Missionary was recently published by Charles Hall Youth Services. Written by Communications & Marketing director Kim Jondahl, the book highlights the adventures and writings of Charles Lemon Hall.


The reverend was a missionary to the Arikara, Hidatsa, and Mandan tribes of Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. This book covers Hall's rich and evolving ministry through his own writings, historical documents, and more.

Our Mission

 

The mission of Charles Hall Youth Services is to assist at-risk youth in making a
successful transition from troubled adolescence to mature adulthood. At CHYS,

our goal is for today's at-risk teens to discover their innate strengths, develop important life skills,

and become emotionally resilient so that tomorrow's generation of youth live in

healthier families with viable community supports.

 

Charles Hall Youth Services provides daily living care and case management services to youth,  

ages 12 - 18, in three neighborhood-based group homes in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Founded in 1965 as a mission of the United Church of Christ,

Charles Hall Youth Services serves foster care youth needing to live in a safe, stable and nurturing environment.
